Since graduating from Northeastern University’s Co-op MBA Program, Andrea O’Connor has spent
more than 10 years identifying and refining new products and services for market entry and
acceptance.
Andrea began her career at Kraft Foods. She then worked for a leading research consultancy
in Silicon Valley, with clients including Adobe, Microsoft, Frito-Lay, and Johnson & Johnson.
Andrea next built and ran the research department at TechTV (formerly ZDTV), a cable/internet
startup funded by Softbank and Vulcan Ventures. Andrea joined Internet Services Firm Rare
Medium as a Senior Product Strategist, developing product and market-strategy plans for a
wide range of early-stage, venture-funded startups. She then became a Principal at Rare
Ventures, where she evaluated business opportunities, assessed the potential of new products
and services, and helped to form her company’s overall strategy.
Andrea’s favorite types of research projects allow her to blend business theory with
ethnographic and qualitative research approaches. With The Gallin Group, her clients
have included Yahoo!, Autodesk, Segway LLC, and frog design.
